Are you interested in becoming an SMAC reporter? If so, this is the page you need.

This is the page where you can apply to work for SMAC. Your application will be reviewed at our soonest convenience and you will be added to the site as soon as we select you, if your application is deemed satisfactory.

What You Need to Know

• Your posts must be of high quality. You will be expected to be able to:
  • Report and communicate information in a clear manner
  • Ensure that your own personal opinion and bias does not influence the post
  • Use a high level of detail
  • Use quotes and conduct further investigation to find out more about the topic
  • Prompt for reader interaction
  • Analyze and express the implications and effects of an event

• You must post at least once every week.
• Email or notify the Head of Site(s) if you will be away and cannot be posting, or will be going on vacation.
• If you would like to resign from SMAC, you must notify the Heads.
• If you go inactive for more than 2 weeks with no notification beforehand, you may have to leave SMAC.

Why Join SMAC?

1. It’s a great way you can practice writing and improve. By becoming a SMAC staff member, you’ll have to write quite a lot. Many people develop their writing skills through becoming reporters for SMAC.
2. It’s another aspect of CP armies you don’t want to miss out. While you’re still in CP armies, you’ll be attending battles and hanging out on Xat. Pretty cool stuff, but by joining a news site, the writing aspect is opened up to you.
3. It’s fun! Have fun writing and sharing your ideas to all the readers of SMAC.
4. SMAC is one of the most popular news sites out there. SMAC hits more than a thousand views on busy days, so there’s quite a fair chance that your ideas will get through to readers.
5. An easy-going atmosphere. Because SMAC doesn’t report on large armies (which wages destructive nuclear wars against each other), there’s less pressure on you, and the Heads here believes in freedom from oppression. (Most of the time, anyway ). We listen to your excuses, and we’ll give you warnings if you forget to post.
6. Finally, you get to serve the army community as a whole. News form an important part and many people depend on SMAC for their CP warfare news and enjoyment. By joining SMAC, you’re helping hundreds of people enjoy reading every day.

2) What is the email address/username associated with your WordPress account?

3) Please list any prior reporting experience you’ve had.

4) Please link us to a sample post. Do NOT write a post in the form.*

5) Please list any prior commitments you have made which could hinder your activity on SMAC.

*You may want to link us to a report that you have previously written for another site, or perhaps write a new one on a personal blog. Use pastebin.com if you do not have a place to write. Please do not write a post in your comment.

If you have been accepted you will be sent two emails, one for SMAC and the other for the SMAC Staff Site which you need to check daily! Good luck.
